More Details Revealed For CHRIS CORNELL Documentary Co-Produced By BRAD PITT

More details have been revealed about the upcoming documentary film focusing on the life of SOUNDGARDEN and AUDIOSLAVE frontman Chris Cornell.

The film, titled "Like A Stone", is being produced by Cornell's widow, Vicky, and Brad Pitt, with Peter Berg directing and Mark Casimir Dyniewicz Jr. credited as co-writer. Berg has directed "Patriots Day", "Lone Survivor" and "Deepwater Horizon", among other films.

According to IMDB, there will be some dramatization scenes mixed in, with actors playing Chris and other people involved in his life. Lauchlin MacDonald will play Chris Cornell, Robert De Niro's daughter Drena De Niro will play Vicky Cornell, Adelicia Morris will play Chris's mother Karen Cornell, Sandeep will play SOUNDGARDEN guitarist Kim Thayil, and Paul Louis Harrell will play "Superunknown" producer Michael Beinhorn. PEARL JAM, NIRVANA, SOUNDGARDEN and AUDIOSLAVE will all appear in archival footage.

Cornell, who committed suicide in 2017, was honored last January at a tribute concert in Los Angeles, where the remaining members of SOUNDGARDEN and AUDIOSLAVE, along with METALLICA, FOO FIGHTERS and others, performed.

A box set featuring music from all three of Cornell's bands, as well as his solo records, was issued in November 2018.

Cornell was pronounced dead on May 18, 2017 after being found unresponsive in his Detroit hotel room. SOUNDGARDEN had played a show earlier that evening. The 52-year-old had sedatives and an anxiety drug in his system, but died as a result of hanging himself.
